Veterans Curation Program

The Veterans Curation Program (VCP) is a temporary employment program that uses archaeology to help veterans transition into the civilian workforce. Under the supervision of professional archaeologists and archivists, veterans assist in caring for at-risk archaeological collections from the US Army Corps of Engineers including database management, photography, and scanning. No previous background in related fields is required. Technicians are also provided Professional Growth and Development time to develop networking skills, workshop professional resumes, and apply for jobs or future schooling in any field. Helmets to Hardhats

Helmets to Hardhats is a national, nonprofit program that connects transitioning active-duty military service members, veterans, National Guard and Reservists with skilled training and quality career opportunities in the construction industry. The program is designed to help military service members successfully transition back into civilian life by offering them the means to secure a quality career in the construction industry. Most career opportunities offered by the program are connected to federally-approved apprenticeship training programs. Such training is provided by the trade organizations themselves at no cost to the veteran. No prior experience is needed; in fact, most successful placements start with virtually no experience in their chosen field.

Vets 2 Industry

Vets2Industry provides a free resource library for active, guard, reserve, veteran, military-spouse, dependent children, Blue-Star & Gold-Star Families, and caregivers – so they know which organizations provide free services and benefits. V2I also serves by listing companies that have opportunities for veterans to include specific military hiring programs with companies on the 100 Military Friendly companies list. The goal is to educate all 220,000 to 240,000 transitioning service members each year and their dependents on free resources to ease their transition and life needs, and more importantly, provide hope.

Military and Veteran Organization Task Force

National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) is the only Veteran Owned Business Certification organization developed by Veterans for Veterans. The purpose is to provide a credible and reliable certifying authority for all size businesses, ensuring that valid documentation exists of Veteran ownership and control.


NVBDC’s Military & Veteran Organization Task Force (MVO TF) MISSION
The primary role of the NVBDC Military and Veteran Organization Task Force is to focus on pursuing and achieving tactical and strategic objectives by partnering with organizations having equal goals to help Veteran Businesses. The NVBDC Military and Veteran Organization Task Force Director will engage, build, and lead the task force to extend the reach and understanding of corporate certification standards for the NVBDC program.

Veteran Services – Workforce Development & Adult Learning

Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) provides many programs and services available to veterans through the Department. DLLR provides job development and employment training to help our citizens get the skills and expertise they need to move with our economy into Maryland’s future. The state’s American Job Centers offer a variety of services to assist veterans, transitioning military personnel and other qualified individuals. Local veterans employment representatives work with businesses, contractors, and employer organizations within local areas to develop career opportunities for veterans. The Disabled Veterans Outreach Program staff also provides specialized intensive employment assistance to eligible veterans with employment and training needs.

Salute Heroes

Emergency Financial Support: Since 2004, the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes has provided disabled American veterans from Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn with millions of dollars worth of Emergency Financial Aid and support services.

Career Support: The Coalition offers online training in more than 1,500 courses to help our veterans build or expand their educational credentials. In addition, we also post employment opportunities from great employers all over the United States.

Health Support: The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes is pleased to present a comprehensive directory of online resources for OIF/OEF/OND veterans and their families.  This list is constantly growing and our goal is always to provide great direction when it comes to the health of our veterans and their families.

Feds Hire Vets

Feds Hire Vets is your single site for Federal employment information for Veterans, transitioning military service members, their families, and Federal hiring officials. The office is responsible for promoting veterans’ recruitment, employment, training and development, and retention within their respective agencies. There are also resources for information about finding and applying for Federal careers, writing a Federal resume, and more.

American Corporate Partners

Launched in the Spring of 2016, The ACP Women’s Veteran Mentoring Program connects female veterans with female entrepreneurs and business leaders for enhanced, one-on-one yearlong mentorships. ACP hand selects a Mentor for each veteran based on her career and professional development goals. Veterans are mentored on topics ranging from building a civilian-friendly résumé, to managing work-life balance, to refining leadership and networking skills. As part of the Women’s Veteran Mentoring Program, female veterans will have access to exclusive networking events and career development workshops hosted throughout the year. The ACP team also provides personalized support for each mentorship, as well as customized resources tailored to every individual pair.

Career One Stop

Veteran and Military Transition Center is a one-stop website for employment, training, and financial help after military service. This provides back-to-school information, job search and benefits, and assistance.

Easter Seals Veteran Staffing Network

The Veteran Staffing Network (VSN) at Easterseals is a national nonprofit staffing agency that connects employers with top-tier military talent and helps veterans and their spouses find meaningful jobs. VSN supports multiple disciplines and industries, placing thousands of veterans and military spouses in positions across the country, from executive to entry-level.

Boots to Business

Boots to Business (B2B) is an entrepreneurial education and training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as part of the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP). B2B provides participants with an overview of business ownership and is open to transitioning service members (including National Guard and Reserve) and their spouses.

This is a specific entrepreneurial training program specifically for veterans.  Governmental, US Small Business Administration, through DODs Transition Assistance Program, sign up for programs by military branch.

Barbara Giordano Foundation

The Giordano Foundation is a Women Veterans wellness network, affording them opportunities to use their acquired skills and inherent dedication to better their own lives, those of their families, their communities and their country.

The Giordano Foundation is committed to the personal and professional growth of women veterans. We exist as a holistic resource center bringing together business, education, wellness and military community members to provide women veterans with opportunities for long-term economic independence and personal empowerment.

Warrior Scholar Project

Warrior-Scholar Project (WSP) equips enlisted veterans and service members to excel at four-year universities. Through intensive and immersive one- to two-week academic boot camps, participants gain skills required for success and support for the cultural shift from the military to higher education at top-tier schools. Throughout WSP’s free resident education programs, students are traditionally housed on campus, and engage in challenging discussions with accomplished professors, receiving tailored instruction on key skills like analytical reading and college-level writing. Warrior-Scholar Project is a national nonprofit with programs at public and private colleges and universities across the country.

Student Veterans of America

To provide military veterans with the resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education and following graduation.

Student Veterans of America (SVA) is a 501(c)(3) coalition of student-veteran groups on college campuses across the globe. The heart of SVA is the student-led chapter. SVA supports a network of over 1,500 schools and over 700,000 student veterans. At the individual level, SVA empowers veterans to be informed consumers of higher education and make the most of the transition to civilian life.

This is a global organization and international chapter-based.

Military OneSource offers a wide range of individualized consultations, coaching, and counseling for many aspects of Military Life. Military OneSource connects you to programs, services and products developed for military life. Combat Veterans to Careers

Combat Veterans to Careers has teamed up with the local Central Florida community to assist both combat veterans and their families by helping them acclimate into a supportive community and prepare them for a successful career. Combat Veterans to Careers works with Veterans who served in post-9/11 Iraq or Afghanistan. Verification of service is required.
