Retreats

Saprea Retreat

The Saprea Retreat is a free, clinically informed four-day experience followed by a self-guided online course for adult women who were sexually abused at or before the age of 18. The retreat is led by an experienced team of licensed therapists and case managers who are eager to help survivors heal. The retreat teaches survivors about the impacts of trauma, provides opportunities to apply healing tools, and builds a community of support. The subsequent online course builds upon that foundation for deeper understanding and application of healing principles.

Thanks to the generosity of Saprea’s founders and donors, survivors participate in the Saprea Retreat at no cost (includes food, location, and services). Participants are only responsible for travel to and from the pick-up locations for the in-person experience. The Saprea Retreat is hosted in two locations: Utah and Georgia, and participants can choose their preferred location.

Project Sanctuary

Project Sanctuary supports military families where they are right NOW. After years of working with military families, we have become a recognized leader in bringing health and wellness to our military families. By addressing mental health first, we take our families from battle-ready to family-ready.

All military/veteran families who contact us, or who are referred to us, are first assessed to determine if they need support and services now (i.e., immediate help) or if they may be scheduled for a retreat. Both options are geared toward reconnecting the families to each other and to their communities. All services provided are intended to help the families thrive today and into the future. All of our services are provided free of charge to participating military families.

Project Sanctuary also provides 24/7 Peer Support.

Warriors and Quiet Waters

Each FX brings qualified participants to southwest Montana for a week-long program of fly fishing and relaxation in the peaceful landscape characteristic of the Rocky Mountains. WQW works strategically with partner organizations in order to identify potential participants who meet placement criteria and are committed to positive change. Such partnerships have included Wounded Warrior Battalions and Warrior Transition Units. Warriors come from across the United States and all branches of military service, limited to those who have been combat-wounded and/or are currently struggling socially or professionally due to mental health conditions or traumatic brain injuries acquired during combat operations post-9/11.

Wounded Warrior Project

Project Odyssey Veteran Retreat
USING NATURE AND RECREATION TO HEAL THE SPIRIT
With its name derived from Homer’s epic poem about overcoming adversity and finding the way home, Project Odyssey helps you overcome combat stress through outdoor, rehabilitative retreats that encourage a connection with nature, your peers, Project Odyssey staff, and trained counselors.

Warriors face a range of challenges, and each individual’s needs are deserving of attention and care. During this 90-day mental health program, you’ll continue your journey toward recovery, make strides alongside fellow warriors at a multi-day event, and move forward with three months of follow-ups, goal-setting, and positive progress. From day one, and through all stages of your recovery, we are here for you every step of the way.

Couples Project Odyssey: Military experiences impact all relationships differently, and we’re here to support every journey. During this 90-day mental health program, which includes a multi-day event, you’ll learn skills to strengthen connections alongside a loved one, and continue with three months of follow-ups and support.

Camp Patriot

Founded in 2005, Camp Patriot is a 5-Star rated 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to empower and thank wounded and disabled military veterans of all generations though our outdoor programs.

In October of 2014, the Camp Patriot Veteran Retreat Ranch was established. Sandy Cove

This is a retreat for families/couples and does require service within the last 12 months.

Sandy Cove’s Operation Oasis ministry was designed to help military families reconnect following the long and challenging separation caused by war.

Soldiers Freedom Outdoors

Soldier Freedom Outdoors provides a safe holistic place where our military can begin the journey toward healing. They serve veterans and active duty military personal throughout the United States. The facility is known as Camp Freedom, located in Melrose Florida.

The staff ensures that those who come to our retreats have opportunities to share their stories, their struggles, and their celebrations. Our retreats are small – which helps to create intimacy, trust, and genuine fellowship. Some of life’s moments may be shared on the trail, around the campfire, on the dock, or in the hunting blind.

Boulder Crest

Boulder Crest is committed to improving the physical, emotional, spiritual, and economic well-being of our nation’s military, veterans, first responders, and their family members. Our programs ensure they have the opportunity to live lives of passion, purpose, and service at home. Boulder Crest retreats are free, short-duration, high-impact programs based on the science of posttraumatic growth. Programs are available for individuals (male and female), couples, families, caregivers, and Gold Star families.

Project New Hope

Project New Hope was founded in 2010 and established in January 2011 by a disabled Air Force Veteran, William H. (Bill) Moore M.A. Our vision is one of hope for every Service Member, Veteran, Gold Star Honoree, Survivor, and Wounded Warrior who has felt the impact of military service.  We offer the chance for a full life without judgment for you, your spouse or partner, and your children.

Project New Hope believes in the healing power of mutual support, targeted services, and the camaraderie of friends. We welcome Veterans of all eras from across the United States. They have specific retreats for women veterans as well as LGBT veterans retreats.

Huts for Vets

This unique wilderness therapy program in Aspen, Colorado is offered free to men and women veterans who have suffered trauma as a result of their service. They serve veterans who are seeking a perspective shift through beautiful mountain scenery, camaraderie at the 10th Mountain Huts, and philosophical explorations of literature. In 2018, Huts for Vets began focusing on participants from the Colorado/Rocky Mountain region. They are looking for veteran women who are eager to hike, open themselves up to nature, exchange ideas in a safe environment, and enjoy healthy meals.
